Gilles Durfort began his career with fine-art photography in the 80s. His first series entitled “photographic structures” was shown at the Castelli Gallery in New York. On his return to Paris, he turned his attention to the study of glass and steel, working with the Bobé studio. This led to the creation of his first sculptures. The recipient of several awards, he worked with the art broker Donald Laborie and from 2012, steel became a form of “intimate expression” for him, a rebirth of his imagination.
